Contract dates range from late September/early October to early January depending on which role you are cast in.
If cast in the show, performers will be offered an American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA) contract with competitive salary and benefits including 401(k) plan and year-round health insurance. No travel or housing is provided for the performers of the show in New York.
MALE AND FEMALE DANCERS must be proficient in jazz and ballet. Pointe work is a plus, but not required, for Female Dancers. Male and Female Dancers will be taught a song as part of the audition. There is no need to prepare vocal material. Voice quality is not as important as the ability to sing and dance at the same time.
MALE AND FEMALE VOCALISTS: Seeking strong singers for a diverse ensemble vocal group. Must have great voice and style with a wide vocal range, be proficient at singing close harmony, and able to move well. Bring sheet music for 16 bars of a song in your own key that best exemplifies your natural style. No hard-edged rock and nothing too legit, but solid, clean, expressive singing in the traditional style of the Christmas Spectacular. Clean pitch/accuracy, sight-singing skills, ability to learn very quickly, and lyric clarity a must. Vocalists must be able to read music and learn complicated, tight harmonies very quickly. (Think: Pentatonix.) You MAY be asked to sing something else, so please have your book with you. No recorded music is allowed. You may be asked to stay for a Movement Call at the end of the audition day. Please have appropriate clothes and shoes with you.
GIRLS (CLARA) must be 4’10” and under, and appear to be 14 years old or younger. All GIRLS must be strong in ballet, able to work en pointe (having had at least once year of experience en pointe). They must bring their pointe shoes with them to audition. There will be no exceptions.
LITTLE PEOPLE PERFORMERS must be adults under 4’10” tall, agile, move well to music and be able to project their voice and personality.
PRINCIPAL ROLES are not cast by open audition. Submissions are accepted only through talent agents in response to published breakdowns.
ROCKETTES must be between 5’6″ and 5’10 ½” tall (measurements will be taken in stocking feet). Rockettes candidates must be proficient in ballet, tap, and jazz. To find out more about the Rockettes, please visit Rockettes.com.
It is recommended that you arrive no later than the start time for the audition. Radio City reserves the right to cut the line at any time.
Please bring a headshot and resume if you have one.
For most female roles, character heels are the preferred shoe for dancing. Please no bare feet or sock feet in the audition room.
Once you enter the building to register, you may not be allowed to leave again before the end of the audition, so please prepare accordingly. Please be aware there are no vending machines in the building.
Only auditionees are allowed into Radio City. No guests are permitted to accompany you. Girls auditioning for the role of Clara may bring ONE GUARDIAN with them to the holding area. Guardians are not allowed to observe auditions.
Unless specifically indicated, we do not accept video submissions. You must audition in person.
